Trusted guidance throughout assessment
- Short articles, videos and audio resources applicants can explore independently or receive directly from their Social Worker or buddy.
- Task explainers can be attached to tasks, clarifying expectations and reducing repeated administration for Social Workers.
- Content covers the questions and topics applicants tell us matter most as they prepare to foster.
- Contributors include fostering professionals, sector experts and, most importantly, experienced Foster Carers.
- Agencies can see which resources have been accessed, helping teams identify where further information or support may be useful.

What Fostering Services want to know about the Knowledge Hub
Will applicants actually engage with another resource library?
The Knowledge Hub gives Applicants choice over how and when they access information. They can browse independently, receive a relevant resource during a visit to explore further or share with their partner, or open guidance attached to a task. It is not another place to keep checking, but information available in the way that suits each Applicant best.
Do we have to create all this content ourselves?
No. Fosterli’s content is created by a panel of sector experts and covers the questions and topics Applicants ask most often. Future releases will also allow agencies to add their own service-specific content.
Does this replace our statutory training programme?
No. The Knowledge Hub complements pre-approval training with expert-led content on specific topics, reinforcing key messages while introducing additional perspectives. Applicants can benefit whether they access it before or after training, as no prior knowledge is assumed. It also goes beyond general fostering guidance, with practical explainers for tasks such as creating a safer caring plan or completing a childhood reflection.
How do we keep content up to date?
Fosterli publishes updates automatically, so there is nothing for your team to download or maintain. New and updated content appears within the Knowledge Hub, with release notifications letting you know what has changed.
